GN1055

Overview

Gennum's GN1055 is a fully integrated silicon germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS transimpedance amplifier, providing wideband, low noise pre-amplification of a current from a PIN photodiode or APD.

It features differential outputs. A decoupling capacitor on the supply is the only external component required.

  • Single +3.3 V power supply
  • Power dissipation = 145 mW (typical)
  • Transimpedance gain = 4 kΩ into 100Ω load (diff)
  • Upper Bandwidth (-3dB) = 12GHz
  • Operates at OC-192 / STM-64 up to 11.3 Gb/s NRZ rates
  • RSSI (Receive Signal Strength Indicator)
  • User adjustable Input Slicing Level.
  • Can be used with APD
  • Minimal external components; supply decoupling only
  • Operating junction temperature range = -40° to +125°C
