Video Broadcast – Gennum delivers industry-leading HDTV components for professional and broadcast video markets. Our award-winning portfolio includes SDI equalizers, reclockers, cable drivers, transmitters, receivers, timing and clock conditioning solutions.

Data Communications – To help meet the ever-increasing bandwidth demand in high-speed data communication and telecommunication applications, we offer a comprehensive suite of backplane interconnect and optical transceiver ICs including laser drivers, equalizers, SerDes, receive optical sub-assemblies (ROSAs), clock and data recovery (CDRs) and transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs).

Consumer Connectivity – Gennum helps cable manufacturers meet the bandwidth demands of today’s consumer video devices with ActiveConnect™ solutions, which provide connectivity over long distances while maintaining precision signal integrity via low-cost HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort cable.

Industrial Connectivity – Gennum Aviia™ (Advanced Video Interface for Industrial Applications) solutions provide the industry's first HD video-over-coax interface for industrial imaging applications including video surveillance, machine vision, medical, digital signage, passenger infotainment, industrial imaging and video conferencing.

Computing – Gennum's portfolio of easy-to-use, turnkey PCIe®-to-local bus bridges and retiming re-drivers gives designers the ability to quickly migrate designs to PCIe, speeding time to market, solving important system issues and helping future proof designs.

IP – Gennum's Snowbush IP group addresses the need for the design and delivery of silicon-proven, high-speed serial interface IP. Our portfolio includes complete, integrated, PHY and controller solutions for standards such as USB, PCI Express® and Serial ATA (SATA), and single and multi-standard SerDes for applications with data rates from 1 Gb/s to over 10 Gb/s.

Gennum's Board of Directors firmly believes that good governance is essential to the long-term success of the Company. Gennum's Board is responsible for ensuring that the Company meets the needs of all its stakeholders, a prerequisite in creating long-term value for shareholders.

Our Board is comprised of accomplished leaders from relevant technical and financial backgrounds. Seven of Gennum's eight directors are unrelated to management, including the Chairman of the Board, and all three Board committees are composed entirely of unrelated directors. Non-management directors meet separately from management for a portion of every Board meeting.

The Board closely follows current discussion on governance standards and strives to incorporate developing aspects of best practice as they might apply to Gennum. Corporate Governance Committee – focuses on board membership, structure, organization and compensation. It helps develop appropriate systems and procedures to enable the Board to exercise and discharge its responsibilities. Human Resource Committee – focuses on compensation policies, organizational structure, succession planning and development and the appointment and remuneration of officers. The Committee has prime responsibility for ensure that succession plans are in place to provide for the eventual replacement of the President and CEO. 1. When was the company founded, and when did it change its name?

The company was founded in 1973 as Linear Technology Inc. (LTI). In 1987, Gennum Corporation was formed as a wholly-owned subsidiary of LTI, and was responsible for the company's silicon operations. In 1990, a corporate reorganization took place which involved the amalgamation of LTI (the parent company) with its wholly-owned subsidiaries. Gennum Corporation was the name of the amalgamated public company succeeding LTI.

2. Where is the stock traded? When did the company go public?

Shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol GND. The company was originally listed on the TSX in 1982.

3. When is Gennum's fiscal year end, and when are results announced?

Gennum's fiscal year end is November 30. Quarterly results are announced in April (first quarter), June (second quarter), September (third quarter) and February (fourth quarter).

4. Does Gennum pay a dividend?

Dividends on Gennum's common shares are paid as and when declared by the Board of Directors. Since May 1994, Gennum has paid a quarterly dividend to common shareholders. For more information, please refer to the Dividends section of this page.

The current quarterly dividend is 3.5 cents per share.
