Gennum Closes Sale of VXP Image Processing Business

BURLINGTON, ON - February 8, 2008 - Gennum Corporation (TSX: GND) announced today that it has closed its previously announced sale of its VXP® image processing business to Sigma Designs (Nasdaq: SIGM). With this sale, Gennum achieves another milestone in its ongoing strategy to focus on delivering proven optical, analog and mixed-signal solutions to the video broadcast, data communications and consumer connectivity markets.

Cash proceeds from the sale of the VXP business are approximately U.S. $18 million.

Gennum and Sigma Designs reached a definitive agreement for the sale on January 3, 2008.
